As I've said before, any time I get depressed with the situation of the legal system in Virginia all I have to do is google "Texas" and realize that Virginia will never get that weird.

Actually, you are painting with a rather large brush here. Many Texans view the border area as something like a 2.75 world country. My favorite border story is the Starr County Sheriff who got reelected in November while sitting in jail on a sealed federal indictment -- something to do with drugs, conspiracies and such.
