I agree, there's not much reason to have the trial.
Query, if a statute (to encourage apologies) provided that apologies were inadmissible to prove liability, how long until someone tried to argue that this is the kind of apology meant?
Note to legislators: specify that you mean negligence civil tort cases, and specifically medical malpractice or similar professional error cases, not crimes of violence against the person.
