Drugs and the Nation:
In SanFran the feds are appealing the fact that a judge didn't give the 5 year minimum in a marijuana growth case. You'll recall, this is the case in which the judge refused to let the jury know that the marijuana was being grown with the sanction of local officials for medical use.
In Fairbanks a judge has ruled that a law passed by the citizens "prohibiting possession of marijuana for personal consumption by an adult in their home is unconstitutional." In Alaska the right to privacy has been expanded to allow citizens to have marijuana in their houses.
The DEA is raiding California's sanctioned pot farms and Santa Cruz is suing the feds over it.
Meanwhile, they are finding poppies out in the national forests. And there isn't a yellow brick road in sight.
