Hmmmm.... only a law school prof could derive a theory like this (marriage=legal prostitution) by consulting with... prostitutes, who she claims are more free than wives because their exchange of money for sex is temporary and open instead of permanent and exclusive. What a surprise this would have been to several millenia of Judeo-Christian and even natural law pagan Western cultures, who had the temerity to view marriage as an exclusive relationship ordered to two ends: mutual love and procreation and rearing of children. Silly them. It was all just about sex for money. Now we can scrap the whole idea! That couldn't be what this law prof has in mind, now, could it?
