Sex offenders in Des Moines are not allowed to live within 2,000 feet of a school or child care provider. The ICLU is challenging in federal court and one judge has ruled the law unconstitutional because "
[t]here are no studies to prove or even suggest a 2,000-foot restriction enhances the safety of children."
You can't have studies on every single subject. Sometime you just have to rely on common sense.
