The New York State Court of Appeals has done the people of New York City a great service by permanently removing Laura Blackburne, a notorious cop-hater, from the Queens Supreme Court bench.
Yes, she can run and get elected again. Probably on a platform of: I am a notorious cop-hater and the NY Court of Appeals hates me. The facts of the case still seem somewhat hazy. At some level, there is a question of whether people are entitled to safe passage in a courtroom, and that arrests can only be at the direction of the judge.
If we elected judges in Virginia there are a couple jurisdictions where that platform would probably work.
