Anyone doing legal work must rely on the integrity of his staff. At a certain point it becomes impossible to monitor everything yourself (no matter what the Bar seems to think) and you have to trust someone.
I don't know what I'd do if I found out a trusted employee who had worked for me for 10 years had stolen all sorts of money from me.
Maybe I'd just be glad that she didn't take it from the escrow account and get me thrown out of the Bar.
