It's always funny when good news occurs in law enforcement. Dropping crime statistics are not good for business and perennially low crime statistics are terrible when you want to increase your force and your budget. This leads police forces everywhere to often claim that the crime situation is worse than it looks. It also makes me very suspicious when the Atlanta Chief of Police says the years of good news were a complete fabrication at the same time he asks for "
money to add more than 300 street officers to the 1,600-member police force to crack down on the drug trade."
